Sporting Clays

Sporting Clays is the fastest growing shooting sport in the nation.  Sporting Clays is often described as golf with a shotgun.  River Breaks Ranch offers the only public course within 200 miles of Amarillo.  The course consists of 10 stations with birds or clay targets that are different presentation at each station.  You will see everything from crossing, coming towards you, going away from you, coming from behind you, running on the ground and dropping out of the sky. 

Team Roping

The skilled Cowboys and Cowgirls of River Breaks Ranch will demonstrate the art of team roping. Team Roping is an age-old event that was developed by the working cowboys on the open range. Originally cowboys began team roping to doctor sick cattle that were too far from the pins. As the event has evolved over the years it has become a staple on the ranch and in the arena. You might have seen team roping on television at some of the major rodeos around the country.

Horse Racing

One of the special activities that we offer on the ranch is Horse Racing.  There is nothing better than having the chance to look over the horses and pick a winner! Everyone can experience the thrill of cheering for their favorite horse as they make the dash for the finish line.  Each race consists of four to eight horses at a time racing for glory.  Here at River Breaks the only thing that beats a sunset is seeing a beautiful horse run for the finish.

Each guest at will receive a packet of “Ranch Bucks”, like a monopoly money that they may use to bet on the horse races.  There will be 5 horse races total.  The event last about 30 minutes.  We will pay 10-1 on every race for the winner only.  Come out to River Breaks, and see if you can break the all time winning record of over $1,000,000 in Ranch Bucks winnings.
